PILATES AT SOMAFIT
Our Pilates trainers hail from a wide variety of backgrounds and specialties and have many years of experience and numerous certifications. The result is a cohesive Pilates staff that can meet the wide array of interests and fitness goals of our clientele. Soma Pilates is run by one of the foremost instructors in the D.C. area, Heike Yates, who leads a team of the areas finest Pilates instructors, many of whom are Pilates MethodTM certified. As for the facility, its award-winning design puts a premium on light and space, making each workout a remarkable experience. The Pilates studio is fully equipped with Reformers, Cadillac, Wanda Chair, Spine Corrector, Ladder Barrel, the Ped-A-Pull and auxiliary equipment, as well as comfortable areas for mat classes.
SomaFit Pilates can be tailored to fit any client's fitness and skill levels. The "less is more" theory mandates fewer repetitions, but each one must be precisely executed. This results in longer, leaner muscles rather than sheer bulk, as well as greater flexibility and balance.
